Dawn's Story
Dawn Nasoni of Elk County was looking for a way to gain a Human Resources certification locally. Thankfully, she did not have to go far as Northern Pennsylvania Regional College was a nearby and affordable option to help her take her career to the next level.
Nasoni is currently employed as a Human Resources Generalist at Equus Workforce Solutions, where she supports workforce development and human resource initiatives. Having achieved this certificate in human resources this May, she now has more knowledge and developed skills specifically in conflict resolution, recruitment, and workforce planning that will guide her career going forward.
She was recommended to NPRC by a friend and had interactions with professionals working at the College over recent years in her career. The friend who recommended her was President Susie Snelick, who also serves as a career mentor to Nasoni. “Whether it was academic guidance or career advice, she’s always made time to help me. Like Susie, my instructors were also very approachable and invested in student success. They were willing to work with my schedule and were flexible when needed.”
In addition to her instructors, she also enjoyed the flexibility in her course schedule as a working professional as well as small class sizes, which allowed for more personalized instruction and meaningful discussions throughout my time as a student. “Overall, I believe NPRC was a pivotal step in my career journey. I’m grateful for the foundation the College provided and the opportunities I hope it opens for me over time.”
